I am back from my couple of days in Lake Butler. This was my first 'overnighter' on the bike. It was not that far at all, and it was an easy ride. Most of the way was familiar and traffic was non existant. I managed to get everything in my backpack and all of it bungeed on the sissy bar. I don't have any pictures yet, but I do have some to post. A couple of weeks ago, some of the Divas rode with a group of folks called the Southern Cruisers. We went to Clark's fish camp in Jacksonville and we had a great time. Johanne and Stacey and I came home down I95. My first time taking the Bullet on the interstate. Not my favorite place to be on the bike, but I can do it. Last weekend the Divas rode to Welaka for breakfast. Since Marie sliced open her hand, we had to cut our scheduled ride short. It was still a great day and I had a ball, as usual. So here are a few shots from those rides. Hugs from the beach..................CHARLIE
She used to work in a diner
Never saw a woman look finer
I used to order just to watch her float across the floor
She grew up in a small town
Never put her roots down
Daddy always kept movin', so she did too.
Somewhere on a desert highway
She rides a Harley-Davidson
Her long blonde hair flyin' in the wind
She's been runnin' half her life
The chrome and steel she rides
Collidin' with the very air she breathes
The air she breathes.
You know it ain't easy
You got to hold on
She was an unknown legend in her time
Now she's dressin' two kids
Lookin' for a magic kiss
She gets the far-away look in her eyes.
Somewhere on a desert highway
She rides a Harley-Davidson
Her long blonde hair flyin' in the wind
She's been runnin' half her life
The chrome and steel she rides
Collidin' with the very air she breathes
The air she breathes.
